Gum Therapy
Gum therapy consists of removing the bacteria and debris around teeth and gums. This procedure can be as simple as normal scaling or cleaning for mild cases. The more severe the inflammation, the more extensive the treatment will be. In some cases, the only way to access and clean the roots is to perform a flap surgery. Through this procedure, we can clean the roots intensively and ensure there is no residual debris. It’s imperative for you to know that without yearly maintenance and good oral hygiene, all the work will be in vain, and the inflammation may return.
The European center utilizes the technology known as the “smart pad,” a device designed to clean oral and periodontal tissues by killing 99% of bacteria. This leaves the mouth and oral tissues clean and healthy.
Gum and Bone Disease, commonly known as Periodontal Disease, is a bacterial infection that starts attacking the gum as a first step, and if untreated will continue and invade the bone that supports your teeth. A simple inflammation in the gum only is called gingivitis; it can be treated very easily and is reversible. On the other hand, periodontitis is a more serious infection, where not only the gum is infected but also the bone. Treating periodontitis is much more difficult, and the bone that is resorbed is lost for good. It can also lead to tooth loss if left untreated. The starting point of all of this is bad oral hygiene. During your next visit, ask our dentists about the right way to brush and floss your teeth.
